Learning in Conversation

I'm not sure if it's true everywhere, but in many of the school offices I visit, students are treated like second class citizens... or worse. It was on my mind late last week, so I've blurted out my opinions in today's podcast. If the content strikes a nerve with you, I hope you'll take the time to add your comments to the conversation.

I have noticed this from time to time with students and even with teachers and parents. Our division has implemented a program called "First Impressions" that trains office personnel in improving communications, etc. in the front office. The students are the reason we are here; they deserve to be treated with respect, and I am glad that my division has taken steps towards addressing the issue.
